Robin Neal's MISSION POSSIBLE: Live the ABWA Mission
The ABWA mission is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others to grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.
BITE TWO:
to provide opportunities for them to help themselves
and others
1) SEND notes and/or emails encouraging others as friends
2) SEND notes and/or emails encouraging others as professionals
3) SEND notes and/or emails thanking others for time, effort, service
4) Make an effort to CALL each member at least once a year for no reason in particular
5) OFFER to mentor
6) ASK members what they feel are their special skills
7) ASK members to use their existing skills for the chapter/network
8) ASK members to try new skills
9) THANK members for trying new things
10) Catch members in the act of doing “good”
11) GIVE POSITIVE constructive feedback if things didn’t go as
planned
12) FIND TEH GOOD in unfortunate mishaps – there is probably a lesson
13) LEARN TO MENTOR and ASK FOR PERMISSION to mentor/coach someone
14) ASK nonmembers to join ABWA
15) LEARN TO COACH someone starting in the occupation you are a success in
16) ASK GOOD QUESTIONS about what needs members have
17) ASK GOOD QUESTIONS about how you can help
18) ASK questions that let you know how you can help others achieve their goals
19) DISCOVER what interests, motivates, and excites your members
20) SUPPORT member’s community service causes when possible
21) LISTEN and really HEAR what is being said
22) THINK outside the box
23) REDUCE activities that “burnout” the members
24) FIND activities that “reinvigorate” the members
25) BE good examples of good leaders
26) PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL opportunities locally and online
27) SUPPORT members’ education for attending conferences and conventions
28) REVIEW the resources offered by ABWA
29) REMIND members of the benefits of membership
30) MAKE OPPORTUNITIES possible when you can
