Be aware that what gets online may very well stay online and accessible for a long time, so be wise in what online postings, activities and images you post. Employers are regularly doing online searches for potential employee’s online image / profile.
Keep in mind, once it is online, it can exist permanently, somewhere digitally forever. That is a long time. Don’t post in anger, impaired or to shock unless you understand the impact could impact you and your opportunities in the future.
Second Lesson:
For business marketing, social media can be used to show your expertise and build credibility while building online relationships with potential clients, peers, and friends, too. Searching on Google, Echo, Alexa… whatever tool exists or is coming, can be as easy as “Restaurants near me…”, “Dentists near me” … and so on.
There are a lot of tools that claim to let you have a website, blog, portfolio, store… in minutes or a few hours. There is usually an unspoken assumption – that you are tech savvy. If you are not tech savvy, think about calling upon experts to get you started or to help you build the website, do the marketing, whatever is really hard to you and holding you back.
